Neo and Fusion Tango

FusionĀ  invites dancers to blend movements and techniques from various partner dances such as tango, blues, swing, salsa, zouk, and bachata. Zouk dancers often come from different dance backgrounds and are enthusiastic about mixing styles. Some participants are beginners eager to dance to the music they enjoy, rather than the unfamiliar tunes typically played at their dance schools. DJs do not mix music from different dance genres; instead, they play a variety of popular tracks ranging from 60 to 90 bpm, selecting songs that resonate with and can be utilized by dancers of any style. (Alternative music.) This selection is actually slower than the music commonly played in salsa and swing classes. Students discover that they can apply what they’ve learned more easily when the music has a slower tempo.
